The intelligent cockpit is no longer just a product feature. In Europe, it is rapidly becoming a critical regulatory and competitive battleground. Addressing this significant shift, ECV International proudly announces that the 3rd European Automotive Intelligent Cockpit and Smart Driving Summit 2026 will take place on November 17-18, 2026. The event will be held in a hybrid format, both in-person in Stuttgart, Germany, and online.
The automotive landscape is evolving. Euro NCAP’s 2026 Driver Engagement protocols are reshaping how OEMs define driver monitoring and human-machine interaction (HMI). Concurrently, the EU AI Act is introducing new governance requirements for in-vehicle AI systems. With Mercedes-Benz’s DRIVE PILOT already operating at Level 3 on German highways, the boundary between cockpit design and smart driving has permanently shifted.
This premier summit brings together decision-makers from across the automotive value chain, including OEMs, Tier 1 and 2 suppliers, semiconductor companies, software platforms, and AI specialists.
Attendees will tackle the most critical questions of today: How do you build AI cockpits that survive cost, safety, and compliance filters? What does trustworthy L2+/L3 HMI actually look like in production? And where does Europe go from here?
During the two-day event, attendees will delve into an array of cutting-edge topics. Sessions will cover the evolution of in-cabin experiences, the shift from distributed to centralized computing in the software-defined vehicle (SDV) era, and intelligent cockpit HMI design strategies from the perspective of embodied interaction. Additional topics include the role of cockpit domain controllers in modern vehicles, augmented reality head-up displays (HUDs), future display technologies, and user experience within the AI-enhanced digital cockpit.
Furthermore, the agenda explores redefining the next-generation AI-based intelligent cockpit experience. Experts will discuss cloud connectivity, OTA upgrades, virtualizing the digital cockpit to transform in-vehicle software engineering, and AI cockpits powered by cognitive voice engines that dynamically adapt for seamless human-machine collaboration. The application of large language models (LLMs) in in-vehicle voice assistants is also a major highlight.
The summit is tailored for professionals across diverse sectors, including OEMs and new energy vehicle makers, Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers, semiconductors and chipsets, autonomous driving and ADAS software, smart cockpit and HMI, cloud computing, OTA services, cybersecurity, functional safety, automotive testing, sensor technologies, design, materials, and regulatory compliance.
