Fully Electric Mack LR Refuse Demonstration Model Unveiled at WasteExpo 2019

FREMONT, CA: On 7th May 2019, American leading truck manufacturing giant, Mack Trucks launched its highly anticipated battery electric vehicle (BEV), Mack LR. Amalgamating the refuse industry-leading design of Mack LR model with fully electric Mack drivetrain, the real-world testing of the demonstration model will begin by 2020 in the demanding operations of the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY).

The power sent through two speed Mack powershift transmission and put to the ground by Mack's proprietary S522R 52,000-lb rear axles are tremendously useful for a large vehicle. The 12V, 24V and 600V implanted circuits electrically run every LR BEV's accessories and also power the hydraulic systems for Heil DuraPack 5000 body. Improvement of the specific energy is achieved through a 150kW, SAE J1772-compliant charging system which entirely changes the four NMC lithium-ion batteries and elevates the longevity of the automobile.
