Team Global" Welcomes Dirk Abendroth

Former Continental Automotive CTO becomes CTO of Lukasz Gadowski's new holding company and CEO of a new aviation company at the same time.

FREMONT, CA: Dirk Abendroth, formerly CTO of Continental's DAX-listed automotive division, joins CTO of technology holding company Team Global. He is now responsible for all technology, research, and development activities and provides strategic support to portfolio companies as part of this role. His role includes coordinating the cross-industry exchange of innovations, thereby fostering synergy among stakeholders. Simultaneously, he is establishing himself as the CEO of an aviation startup. The company is developing a novel vertical-take-off aircraft that will address a market gap.

"Dirk is a triple hybrid: he's got startup and corporate experience; he's a software and automotive expert; he's got the qualities of a classic German Dr.-Ing., and he brings a lot of international experience to the table - a combination that's exactly what we need at Team Global right now. Dirk is an electrical engineer with a doctorate who began his career at BMW, where he worked in various capacities for twelve years. He was most recently head of "Powertrain BMW i." He joined Byton as Executive Vice President in 2016, where he oversaw the company's powertrain and autonomous driving divisions. Abendroth was appointed CTO Automotive at Continental AG in January 2019. He owns twelve international patents in data and digitalization, system control, driving, and autonomous driving. More than ten others are awaiting approval. Abendroth is a frequent panelist, conference speaker, and keynote speaker as a technology expert.
