Uveye's New Inspection System Will Scan Your Vehicle Under Four Seconds

An Israel start-up has created an inspection technology based on artificial intelligence to check cars for problems and defects.

FREMONT, CA: The Tel Aviv-based Israeli company, UVeye provides high-end solutions for automatic external inspection of vehicles, using advanced technologies. Recently they have introduced a smart-machine inspection service driven by AI. The company raises 31 million USD to expand AI-driven inspection systems since 2017.

The new artificial intelligence-based system will thoroughly inspect a moving car in three to four seconds. It will end those nasty damage arguments at the rental-car return counter by checking any kind of fluid leak and for dents or defects as small as 0.08 inch. This system will inspect the vehicles much faster than a human can investigate, and it will streamline the inspection process and will save time as well. So, carmakers, fleet operators, suppliers, auto dealers, insurance companies, rental and lease companies are interested in the new technology inspection system. The new system made by a two-year-old company will now offer super fast and reliable inspection.

The new system also leans on super-powerful lighting, cloud architecture, deep learning, sensor fusion, high-speed data processing, and some proprietary technology to carefully eyeball a vehicle.

The inspection system will provide a true 3D-view. It will capture all angles and details of the vehicle by a 3D scan and will give a hi-resolution color image with the finest details. The cloud-based architecture platform enables centralized management and provides a big-data platform for data-driven analytics. The system also has the feature of anomaly detection which can scan, detect and identify damages, modifications or discrepancies that might indicate a mechanical problem or a threat. The data gathered during the inspection process will enable predictive and preventive maintenance operation.

UVeye is currently working with many other companies like Toyota, Daimler, Volvo, the VW Group's Škoda, and another, undisclosed automaker to develop systems for assembly lines, shipping areas, and dealerships.
